Ms. Sloan Wilburn started working with young children when she had to return to work after the birth of her son. She went to work at the child care center in which her son attended. She was attending E.K.U. for Elementary Education however, when she began working with young children, she became intrigued with human development and the dynamics of family and community. While working on her bachelor’s degree in Child and Family Studies, she had a licensed child care center in her home. Upon graduation, she went into administration for non-profit child development centers. After about 7 years in administration, she became an instructor at Morehead State University teaching developmentally appropriate practice and early childhood development to child care providers around the state. Her last position was at Fannie Bush Elementary in a kindergarten classroom working with a child with severe developmental delays. Ms. Wilburn has thirteen years of experience working with young children, and has already shown to be a great asset to our staff. She feels fortunate to have the opportunity to teach academics as well as encourage Christian principles to the young children in our community at Clark County Christian. Ms. Wilburn lives in Winchester with her son, Andrew, and they attend Southland Christian Church.
